O Sanctity! Saints of the Jagiellonian University

Date: 14.07.2016 - 15.09.2016
Place: Jagiellonian University Museum Collegium Maius
O Sanctity! Saints of the Jagiellonian University

An exhibition to mark the World Youth Day in Kraków will be held at the Jagiellonian University Museum Collegium Maius.

It will be devoted to the saints with links to the Jagiellonian University: Queen Jadwiga of Anjou, John Cantius, Simon of Lipnica, John of Dukla, Stanisław Kazimierczyk, Prince Kazimierz Jagiellończyk, Adam Chmielowski, Józef Sebastian Pelczar, Józef Bilczewski and Pope John Paul II - the individuals who made heroic efforts to put the values rooted in faith into practice and have become models of virtue. Is sanctity an ambitious goal that is very hard to attain? How do we understand it today? Is it only an archaic term, an aim unachievable in contemporary world, something reserved only for mystics and martyrs? Is it worth striving for?

The exhibition is a tale of Sacrum and human struggles on the way to perfection.

The exhibition preview will be held on 14 July 2016 at 4.00 p.m.

Opening hours:

Monday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday:  10:00 a.m - 4:00 p.m.

Tuesday, Thursday: 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Wednesday: closed

From 25 to 31 July 2016 the exhibition will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (27 July - closed).
