50th Conference of the European Group on Atomic Systems

The Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Applied Computer Science of the Jagiellonian University and the European Physical Society are organising the 50th Anniversary EGAS Conference.

The European Group on Atomic Systems (EGAS) is a division of the European Physical Society. EGAS has held one of the most successful conference series in the field of atomic, molecular, and optical (AMO) physics, annually gathering 200–300 attendees from all over the world. The conference has been continuously organised since 1969 and in 2018, after 41 years, it returns to Kraków. The event will be held at the Jagiellonian University from 9 to 13 July 2018. The organisers expect the jubilee conference to attract a large audience and include lectures by the best-recognised experts in the field of AMO physics. The attendance of Professor Theodor Hänsch, Nobel Laureate in Physics, has already been confirmed.

The programme will consist of approximately ten plenary lectures, ten invited talks, and thirty contributed talks. Two poster sessions will be also organised. The conference will offer a unique opportunity for the community to interact and exchange ideas, providing chances for new collaborations and strengthening existed ones.
