The Jagiellonian University Museum Collegium Maius is hosting the photographic exhibition by Professor Piotr Sztompka, entitled “Postcards from Italy.” For many years, Prof. Sztompka, an internationally distinguished sociologist, has been collecting phootographs from his travels to various parts of the world, focusing on three major themes: architecture, landscape, and people.
It is the fifth Piotr Sztompka’s exhibition presented in the JU Museum. The previous four exhibitions comprised photographs from 24 different countries. The present exhibition features pictures from three regions of Italy: Venice, Tuscany and Umbria. ‘I would like these photographs to make an emotional impact, immersing the viewers in unique colours, forms and shapes of the country of extraordinary beauty of the world and life’, states the author in the exhibition catalogue
The exhibition will be open every day from 9.00 a.m. until dusk. The admission is free
