The Cognitive Science Student Association of Jagiellonian University and the Religious Studies Student Association of Jagiellonian University are hosting the 12th Cracow Cognitive Science Conference. This year’s international meeting will be devoted to “Religion and Beliefs”.

 

 

The Cognitive Science Student Association of Jagiellonian University and the Religious Studies Student Association of Jagiellonian University are hosting the 12th Cracow Cognitive Science Conference. This year’s international meeting will be devoted to “Religion and Beliefs”.

 The topics of interest include:

  • cognitive and psychosocial aspects of religiosity
  • neural correlates of religiosity
  • research on religion - a philosophical perspective
  • methods and history of research on religion in cognitive science
  • altered states of consciousness in religious/spiritual experiences
  • cognitive approach to religion vs. other approaches
  • relation between science and religion
  • (non)religious beliefs: paranormal beliefs, conspiracy theories
  • study of atheism

The goal of the conference is to contribute to the development of the interdisciplinary field of cognitive science by providing a platform for sharing knowledge between people interested in this area as well as related disciplines.

The passive participation is free, whereas the conference speakers are required to pay a 100 PLN fee. The abstract submission deadline is 28 February 2020.
