Grzegorz Harańczyk, JU Ph.D. student won the first prize in the international PAKDD-2010 Data Mining Competition
Grzegorz Harańczyk, a PhD student at the JU Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science and at the same time an employee of StatSoft Company won the first prize in one of the most prestigious data mining competion , organized during the 14th Pacific-Asia Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining (PAKDD 2010) which took place in Hyderabad, India, on June 21-24, 2010 . The competion was coorganized by Neuro Tech Ltd., and the Centre of Computer Science, the University of Pernambuco, Brasil.
The competion was on recalibrating credit scoring on the basis of biased data. Grzegorz Harańczyk beat many competitors from leading international academic centers and data mining companies.
