Children's hospital to have a hybrid operating room

Children's hospital in Kraków has received 5 million PLN from Radio Zet Foundation to build the first state-of-the art pediatric hybrid operating room in Europe.

This innovative suite will allow the cardiologists to perform the most complex operations without dividing them into stages. The room will be equipped with an integrated two-surface angiography machine enabling intravascular procedures. The acquired equipment will assure more precise and thus more effective diagnoses and operations of children with the most serious heart defects.

The whole equipment will be provided by Siemens and Consultronix SA companies, which were selected by the board composed of the representatives of the Children's hospital and Radio Zet Foundation.
Before the equipment is installed, the room needs to be adjusted. The construction works will be financed from the state funds and their the cost is estimated at 2 million PLN.

The overall cost of the investment will probably exceed 7 million PLN and therefore Radio ZET Foundation keeps on collecting money. Everyone can help by donating 1% of their income tax to the Foundation.

The investment is to be completed by the end of 2013.
