During the 14th annual Conference of the European Society of Surgery in Torino the JU Vice-Rector, Prof. Wojciech Nowak, was elected the president of the Society for the next year. As the conference is organized in the home town of the current president, the 15th Conference of the European Society of Surgery will be organized in Kraków in November 2011.   

The Society is the greatest and the most prestigious organization attracting surgeons from the whole Europe. Its main objective is to co-ordinate and support the development of clinical surgery and academic research and to promote the greatest achievements of surgery in Europe and in the world.
