On 9 January 2010 took place the 19th Finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. This year the orchestra collected money for medical equipment for children with urological and nephrological disorders. The Jagiellonian University has joined the charity campaign as well – volunteers collected money within JU premises, on the university tram and during concerts organized in Żaczek University Club.

What is more, the Jagiellonian University has organized an internet auction Allegro.pl - Click here , the proceeds from which will benefit the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. The due date is 20 January 2010. Among the objects and events put up for auction are:

• Weekend for two with breakfast in JU S.Pigoń's Guesthouse in Kraków,
• Weekend for two with breakfast in JU Floriańska Guesthouse in Kraków
• Weekend for two with breakfast in "Pod Berłami Conference Centre" in Zakopane
• Tour of JU Museum Collegium Maius in Kraków directed by Prof. Stanisław Waltoś, the Museum's manager and an eminent expert in JU history and tradition,
• One-year long language course for an adult person in the Jagiellonian Language Centre in Kraków (two semesters)
• Unique collection of JU wines, vintage 2008
• Unique collection of JU wines, vintage 2009
• Course for coaches in the School of Coaching plus Know-How quarterly
• Annual subscription of Alma Mater
• Invitation for two for Juvenalia Student Festival in Kraków
