JU students succeed in ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest

The finals were held in Petersburg. The first prize went to the team from the Saint Petersburg National Research University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics. The second prize went to Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the third one the team from Tokyo University.

Before the Polish team got into the finals, they had to outdo other teams from the Central Europe region, including the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia and Austria.

The finals challenge involved 11 problems to face. The best team managed to solve 10 tasks. The team from the Jagiellonian University solved seven problems and achieved the 9th place.

The Jagiellonian University team was consisted of three students specialising in analytical computer science: Jakub Adamek (third year), Grzegorz Guśpiel (third year) and Jonasz Pamuła (fifth year). The team was supervised by Prof. Paweł Idziak
