Delegation of German entrepreneurs visits the Jagiellonian University

The Jagiellonian University hosted a visit by a delegation of 50 German entrepreneurs from the  Baden-Badener Unternehmergespräche group, together with the representatives of the Robert Bosh Foundation, including its president, Chief Executive Officer Kurt Liedtke, PhD. The mission of the Foundation is to support arts, sciences, education and culture as well as such philanthropic activities as the development of universal health and social care, and helping young people from underprivileged backgrounds. This second-largest German industrial foundation also strives to promote peaceful and friendly co-existence between nations, especially between Germany and Poland.

The delegation took a tour of the University's historic sites and paid tribute to the academics killed by the Nazis during the World War II Sonderaktion Krakau. The visit was concluded with a lecture by the rector of the Jagiellonian University, Prof. Karol Musioł on the University's past and present. The visitors were also shown interesting presentations by Maciej Czarnecki from the CITTRU centre and by Mariusz Piasecki from the Jagiellonian Centre of Innovation.  The presentations covered such issues as the development of the JU, its cooperation with the industry and the innovative research projects carried out by its staff.
