The JU Institute of European Studies in the prestigious Erasmus Mundus programme

The Institute of European Studies of the Jagiellonian University is proud to participate in the Erasmus Mundus Master of Excellence programme sponsored by the European Commission, which aims to enhance the quality of higher education through scholarships and academic cooperation between Europe and the rest of the world. Erasmus Mundus status is granted to academic units which have received the highest number of points for such features as multidisciplinarity, international character and high academic standards. The Institute of European Studies has become a member of this elite international network of universities for the programme Master of Arts in Euroculture, which is a joint project of the international consortium of universities from Europe and other parts of the world.

The MA in Euroculture: Europe in the Wider World is a four semester (2 year), 120 ECTS, full-time interdisciplinary transnational graduate (second cycle) programme in English, which offers students the opportunity to become familiar with the complex character of the European integration. The vital issues, such as multiculturalism, nationalism, supranational institutions, and the European identity are analyzed in the broader context of the evolving socio-political processes of the globalizing world. The students of the programme study at two different universities and gain a double-degree, that is a diploma from two universities.
