JU Professor in the Supreme Court

On September 12, 2011.  Dr hab. Włodzimierz Wróbel, Prof. UJ has been officially nominated judge of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Poland.

Dr hab. Włodzimierz Wróbel, Prof. UJ has worked at the Chair in Criminal Law of the JU Faculty of Law and Administration. He is the Head of the Section of Bioethics and Medical Law and of the Postgraduate College of Material Criminal Law. In 1987 he graduated in law from the Jagiellonian University and started working at the JU Chair in Criminal Law. In 1992 he received his doctorate in law and in 2003 became a holder of a postdoctoral degree. Since 1997 he has been teaching classes at the Criminal Law Section of the JU Legal Advice Centre, which he headed between 2005 and 2008. He is a member of the Commission on Law of the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences. He has written more than 100 publications on criminal law, constitutional law and the theory of law.

In 1989 he completed his legal training and passed the judge exam.  He was a judge assistant in the Constitutional Tribunal and worked in the institutions associated with the Ministry of Justice and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland. He has also acted as an expert for the parliamentary committees. He has been a member of examination boards supervising the exams for various legal professions and has delivered lectures on material criminal law at the courses for judges and prosecutors.
