JU doctoral student Monika Czapla receives Maria Skłodowska-Curie Award

A doctoral student from the Department of Biophysics of the JU Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Biotechnology, Monika Czapla has been awarded Maria Skłodowska-Curie award at the Third European Congress of Women.

The prize winner received a cheque for 16.5 thousand zlotys from the Minister of Science and Higher Education, Barbara Kudrycka.

Monika Czapla is a scholarship winner of the START Programme launched by the Foundation for Polish Science. She specializes in the research on the structure and functions of cytochrome.

The award was presented after a debate about Maria Skłodowska-Curie, which was held to mark the 100th anniversary of her Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
