On 15 March Prof. Dulak,  head of the Department of Medical Biotechnology, the Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Biotechnology of the Jagiellonian University, member of the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences, received an honorary degree from the University of Orleans in France.

Professor Dulak's research interests focus on the mechanisms of cellular differentiation, blood vessel formation, gene and cell therapy as well as the biology and therapy of cancer. He is interested in bioethics, sociology, and philosophy of science.

He is a member of numerous organisations and committees devoted to the development of research and science, including  the Committee for the Evaluation of Research Units (Komitet Ewaluacji Jednostek Naukowych), the Research Committee of Innovative Medicines Initiative in Brussels, the European Vascular Biology Organisation, Biotechnology Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences and Biochemistry and Biophysics Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the Polish Biochemistry Society, the Polish Society of Cell Biology, and Polish Bioethical Society.

Professor Dulak is often invited to lecture during international scientific congresses and in scientific institutes abroad. He was a visiting professor at the University of Orleans and by the Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science. He was a co-organiser of several international scientific congresses including the European Convention of Biology and Vascular Medicine in September last year.  

Prof. Dulak is an author and a co-author of over 170 publications printed in widely known magazines, including Circulation, Arteriosclerosis Thrombosis and Vascular Biology, Journal of Experimental Medicine, Antioxidants and Redox Signaling, Oncogene, American Journal of Pathology. He is a member of the editorial staff of the Arteriosclerosis Thrombosis and Vascular Biology, which is one of the most important magazines in vascular biology.
For the last ten years Professor Dulak's publications have been among the most often cited works of Polish experts in biomedicine.
