Ambassador of Pakistan visits JU

On 3 December 2014, the Jagiellonian University was visited by HE Ambassador of Pakistan to Poland Dr Khalid H. Memon, who was received in Collegium Novum by the Rector of the Jagiellonian University Prof. Wojciech Nowak and the delegation from the JU Faculty of International and Political Studies, including the Dean Prof. Andrzej Dudek and the Head of the Institute of the Middle and Far East Rev. Prof. Krzysztof Kościelniak. The discussed issues included the prospects of collaboration between the Jagiellonain University and Pakistani higher education institutions, with special emphasis on the JU Faculty of International and Political Studies, whose numerous projects include the establishment of the Centre of Pakistani Studies.

After the meeting, the honoured guest visited the historic building of Collegium Maius and went to the Campus of the 600th Anniversary of the JU Revival, where he delivered the lecture entitled "Pakistan Foreign Policy: Pakistan-India Co-operation and Kashmir Issue."

Dr Khalid H. Memon has been a member of the Pakistani diplomatic corps since 1988. He has occupied a number of positions in Pakistani diplomacy as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 2013 he became the Ambassador of Pakistan to Poland.
