Division V (Medical Sciences) of the Polish Academy of Sciences has awarded the Jędrzej Śniadecki Individual Award to Prof. Maciej T. Małecki for his series of papers entitled Wybrane zaburzenia metaboliczne związane z rozrodczością [Selected metabolic disorders related to reproduction]. Prof. Małecki is the head of the JU Medical College Chair of Metabolic Diseases.

Additionally, the Research Team Award of the same Division has been presented to Dr hab. Sebastian Polak, Dr Aleksander Mendyk and Dr Barbara Wiśniowska from the JU MC Faculty of Pharmacy. Their work was devoted to presenting a platform for assessment of cardiotoxic potential of chemical substances, which would operate on the basis of a system of mathematical models used to simulate the functional potential of the left heart chamber cardiomyocytes and create a virtual population of participants for a simulated clinical trial.
