Campaign to help homeless animals is a success

On December 18, 2014 the eighth annual campaign SOS: Universities for Animal Shelters came to a close. It involved six Kraków universities: the Jagiellonian University, the University of Pedagogy, the University of Agriculture, Cracow University of Economics, the AGH University of Science and Technology, and the Academy of Fine Arts as well as two Institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The campaign took place under the honorary auspices of the rectors of the above mentioned higher education institutions.

During 4 weeks, the organisers collected: 1,069 kg of dog food, 423 kg of cat food, 463 blankets and PLN 6,582.77. Nearly all of the gifts have already been handed over to the Shelter for Homeless Animals in Cracow, whereas the donated money will be spent to buy disinfectants, surgical thread and special types of animal feed. This year's campaign will also help the animal shelter in Harbutowice.

The organisers and participants of the campaign would like to thank all those who made it possible for them to raise money and collect goods at the universities, as well as all the donors.
