Dr Mateusz Adamski was awarded a prestigious fellowship to carry out research at the Jagiellonian Centre for Experimental Therapeutics (JCET). The grant is part of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowships (IF), Reintegration Fellowship (H2020-MSCA-IF-2014), within the framework of the European Commission programme HORIZON 2020.

Dr Adamski will run a 2-year research project aimed at exploring endothelial mechanisms of thrombopoietin's neuroprotective properties. It is a joint undertaking by the JCET team headed by Prof. Stefan Chłopicki and the team of the Department of Neurology at the SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, led by Prof. Frank C. Barone.

The Jagiellonian Centre for Experimental Therapeutics is a recently established unit of the Jagiellonian University, designed to develop new methods of lifestyle diseases pharmacotherapy, with special focus on endothelium-targeted therapeutics, as well as to develop collaboration with industry partners in this field. The Centre is located in Kraków Life Science Park.
