Jagiellonian University has most successful law graduates in Poland

Larisch House: one of two main buildings of the JU Faculty of Law and Administration

Last week saw the 7th conference of the Polish Minister of Justice with the deans of law faculties of public and non-public higher education institutions in Popowo near Warsaw. The meeting was devoted to the results of entrance examinations for judge's, counselor's and legal adviser's traineeship, which had been held on 27 September 2014.

The presentation of exam results included the analysis of the questions' difficulty and the profile of persons taking the examination, the results achieved by the graduates of different higher education institutions and different types of programmes (full-time and part-time). As in the previous year, the Jagiellonian University had the highest percentage of graduates who have passed the exam (72,82%). The next places were taken by the University of Lodz (63,08%) and the University of Warsaw (57,10%).

The graduates of the JU Faculty of Law and Administration were once again most successful in all categories, taking first places in the admissions to judge's, counselor's and legal adviser's traineeship, as well as the general traineeship in the National School of Judiciary and Public Prosecution. Besides, the JU part-time students were the only ones in Poland to achieve better results than the general results attained by the graduates of all types of study programmes.

The conference featured deans of 24 Polish institutions of higher education running study programmes in law. The Secretary of State at the Ministry of Justice Jerzy Kozdroń and the Vice-President of the Supreme Audit Office Wojciech Kutyła were also present at the conference, as well as chief members of the bodies representing members of various legal professions in Poland.
