Dr. hab. Romuald Huszcza, prof UJ, to receive the Order of the Rising Sun from the Government of Japan

Last Saturday the government of Japan has announced the decision to award Dr hab. Romuald Huszcza, prof. UJ, prof UW the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon.
The award is to honour Professor's contribution to the development of Japanese Studies in Poland and the promotion of knowledge about Japan.

The Embassy of Japan has expressed the recognition of Professor's long standing work and cordially congratulated on his success. The Embassy also hopes that the bonds of friendship between the two nations will contribute to a further development of Japanese-Polish relations.

Dr hab. Romuald Huszcza, prof UJ, prof. UW is Head of the Department of Japanese and Chinese Studies at the Jagiellonian University and Head of the Department of Linguistics and East-Asian Linguistics at the University of Warsaw. He is also the author and co-author of many articles about the Japanese language as well as the initiator and manager of the project, whose aim is to publish great Polish-Japanese dictionary. He also translates and teaches and therefore promotes Japanese culture and the dialogue between Poland and Japan.

The award ceremony will be held on 20 November at 6pm in the seat of the Embassy of Japan.
