Prof. Stanisław Kistryn takes part in a meeting of EU rectors' conferences representatives

The issues discussed during the sessions included problems of defining, preserving and supporting rare disciplines as well as plans for adopting common research methodologies and influencing state and EU policies in these areas.

On September 9, members of Rector's Conferences from France (CPU), Germany (HRK), Hungary (MRK), the Netherlands (VSNU), and Poland (CRASP) met in Brussels in the offices of the COST Association (European Cooperation in Science and Technology). The meeting also featured representatives of the European Commission and the European Universities Association.

The delegation of the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland consisted of the Jagiellonian University Vice-Rector for Research and Structural Funds Prof. Stanisław Kistryn, the University of Warsaw Vice-Rector for Research and Liaison Prof. Alojzy Nowak and the Vice-Rector for Research and International Cooperation of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan Prof. Jacek Witkoś.

The issues discussed during the sessions included problems of defining, preserving and supporting rare disciplines as well as plans for adopting common research methodologies and influencing state and EU policies in these areas. According to the participants, it is necessary to appoint national observers, who will ensure that local specificities will be taken into account in defining rare disciplines, and to coordinate the actions on the level of a European platform.
