On 25 September 2015 the annual Małopolska Researchers' Night was held at the Jagiellonian University.

As in previous years, a number of fascinating workshops, presentations and experiments were presented at various Jagiellonian University sites. An impressive show took place in Auditorium Maximum, where scientists presented used spectacular, unconventional means to present chemical reactions. At the third campus, state of the art technological solutions were presented by researchers from the JU Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Applied Computer Science and the JU Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science. For instance, the visitors could see how brain-controlled computers work and learn about the possible applications of voice and singing synthesisers.

Altogether, more than a thousand attractions from all fields of study were presented by different institutions during the Małoposka Researchers Night 2015.

About the Małopolska Researchers' Night

The Małopolska Researchers' Night is primarily aimed at showing the general public how interesting and inspiring scientific and academic research can be. Children, teenagers, as well as adult science enthusiasts are welcome to come and explore the fascinating world of research and scholarship.

The event is the largest of its kind in Poland and one of the largest in Europe. Its success is best illustrated by crowds of visitors who flood the premises of universities and other research institutions each year. The Jagiellonian University attracts the largest number of them, thanks to its rich and diverse programme, which comprises a wide variety of research disciplines, ranging from exact sciences to humanities.

The Researchers' Night is part of the European Commission initiative implemented within the framework of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions of Horizon 2020 Framework Programme.
