Ambassador of Albania visits JU

On 27 April 2016 the Jagiellonian University hosted a visit by the Ambassador of Albania to Poland Dr. Shpresa Kureta. The diplomat was received in Collegium Novum by the JU Rector Prof. Wojciech Nowak.

The discussion focused on the plans and prospects of the development of academic cooperation between the Jagiellonian University and Albanian higher education institutions. The Ambassador was acquainted with the history of the oldest Polish university, as well as its current role. Current economic and political issues related to Albania and its   region were also discussed.

Dr. Shpresa Kureta has been Ambassador Resident of the Republic of Albania to the Republic of Poland since April 2004. She is also Ambassador Non-resident to the Republic of Estonia, Republic of Latvia, Republic of Lithuania and Ukraine. Her previous posts include, the Counsellor at the Embassy of Albania to Sweden (2000-2001),  the Ambassador of Albania to Austria (2001-2005) and the Albanian NATO Membership Action Plan (MAP) Coordinator (2006-2009).
