Polish-French scientific workshop within the framework of International Associated Laboratories

From May 8 to 10 the third workshop of the Polish-French associated laboratory, within the framework of International Associated Laboratories (LIA - Laboratoire International Associé) was held in Orleans (France). The laboratory is a joint undertaking by the Department of Medical Biotechnology at the JU Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Biotechnology and the Cell Recognition and Glycobiology team of the CNRS Centre for Molecular Biophysics in Orleans.

The workshop was entitled MicroRNAs: mediators of differentiation and biomarkers of diseases. It was devoted to the presentation of research results of both groups of scientists participating in the LIA, as well as guests from other research centres.

Nearly 70 scientists participated in the workshop. including Prof. Zofia Szweykowska-Kulińska and Prof. Artur Jarmołowski (Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań), Prof. Grzegorz Węgrzyn (University of Gdansk), dr Eva Jakab-Toth (director of the Centre de Biophysique Moléculaire, CNRS, Orlean), and dr Catherine Grillon (Centre de Biophysique Moléculaire, CNRS, Orlean). More than 30 lectures were delivered during the three-day meeting.

The workshop was organised by a committee consisting of Prof. Claudine Kieda, Prof. Józef Dulak, Prof. Alicja Józkowicz, Dr Catherine Grillon, Dr Agnieszka Łoboda, and Joanna Uchto-Bajołek.

The event was held under the honorary auspices of the Polish Ambassador to France and the French Ambassador to Poland.
