Delegation from India and Oxford visits JU

On 13 May 2016 the Jagiellonian University hosted a visit by a delegation from leading Indian higher education institutions, accompanied by Indian studies experts from Oxford.

The delegation included Prof. Shantanu Chakrabarti (University of Calcutta), Prof. Arvind Kumar (Manipal University) and Prof. Gulschan Sachdeva (Jawaharlal Nehru University), as well as Prof. Matthew Mc Cartney and Prof. George Kunnath from the University of Oxford.

The delegation was received in Collegium Novum by the JU Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs Prof. Andrzej Mania. The main issues discussed at the meeting were the plans and prospects of the development of mutual collaboration, especially in the field of international and intercultural studies. After the talk, the visitors were taken on a short tour of Collegium Novun, during which Prof. Andrzej Mania told them about the most important facts from the history of the Jagiellonian University. Then the delegation paid a visit to the Jagiellonian University Museum Collegium Maius.

During the visit at the Jagiellonian University, the delegation also took part in a seminar India. Emerging Power and the New International Order in Asia, organised by the JU Institute of Political Science and International Relations in collaboration with the Institute of International Relations at the University of Warsaw and the Polish Association for International Studies.
