Rectors from Poland, France and Germany meet at JU

On 30 June 2016 a trilateral meeting of rectors from Poland, France and Germany started in Collegium Maius Bobrzyński Hall of the Jagiellonian University.

The session featured representatives of the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland (KRASP), the French Conférence des présidents d'université (CPU) and Conférence des Directeurs des Écoles Françaises d'Ingénieurs (CDEFI) as well as the German Hochschulrektorenkonferenz (HRK). The participants included the President of KRASP Prof. Wiesław Banyś, the President of HRK Prof. Horst Hippler, the Vice-President of CDEFI Prof. Jacques Fayolle and the Permanent Delegate of CPU to Brussels Prof. Jean-Pierre Finance.

The participants were addressed by the Rector of the Jagiellonian Unviersity Prof. Wojciech Nowak, who referred to the recent events related to the vote on Brexit, stressing that today it is especially important to foster collaboration between European institutions of higher education and that political events cannot be allowed to weaken the mutual partnership. He also gave a short presentation about the Jagiellonian University.   

The two-day-long meeting will be focused on such issues as open access, European Doctorate, rare disciplines, and the impact of rankings on research landscape.
