Prof. Leah Wortham rendered great services to the Jagiellonian University Faculty of Law, and Polish legal education in general.
On 10 November 2016, on behalf of the President of the Republic of Poland, the Governor of Małopolska Voivodeship Józef Pilch presented the Officer's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland to Prof. Leah Wortham of the Catholic University Columbus School of Law. The ceremony, hosted by the Rector of the Jagiellonian University Prof. Wojciech Nowak, was held in the Senate Room of the Jagiellonian University Collegium Novum.
Prof. Leah Wortham rendered great services to the Jagiellonian University Faculty of Law, and Polish legal education in general. Most notably, thanks to her efforts first legal clinics were established at the Jagiellonian University. It is worth stressing that they were the first such units not only in Poland but also the entire Central Europe. She also significantly contributed to the foundation of the JU School of American Law and the establishment of the collaborative programme of the Jagiellonian University and the LL. M. Catholic University of America.
Prof. Leah Wortham has spent lots of time in Kraków, contributing great amount of time and effort to the undertakings she inspired and helped to run, which still serve the students of the Jagiellonian University.
