Exhibition 'Ireland Rising' opens at the JU Collegium Paderevianum

On 1 December 2016, an exhibition entitled Ireland Rising was official opened at the JU Collegium Paderevianum II. The opening was attended by Padraig Francis, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Ireland in Warsaw, and Prof. Dorota Malec, JU Vice-Rector for University Development.

The exhibition was prepared by the Embassy of Ireland to Poland to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Easter Rebellion, an armed insurrection of the Irish against Great Britain launched to end the British rule and establish an independent Irish Republic. The aim of the exhibition is to present basic information about one of the most important events in the history of Ireland to Polish audience. It is devoted to key elements of the Rebellion, its course, and both tangible and intangible cultural heritage.

The exhibition was previously on display at the Museum of Independence in Warsaw. It will be open for all attendees until 31 December.
