Expert in American Law awarded with the Commander's Cross

On 2 December 2016, Prof. Rett Ludwikowski received the Commander's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland. In his laudation, Prof. Bartosz Brożek, Faculty of Law and Administration Vice-Dean for International Cooperation, stressed the importance of Prof. Ludwikowski's contributions to Polish-American cooperation.

Since 1991, Prof. Ludwikowski has been coordinating the International Bussiness and Summer Trade Law Programme. This proved to be the beginning of a fruitful cooperation between the Jagiellonian University and the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law. Today, the cooperation thrives in many areas, from practical teaching of law in the legal clinic to 'School of American Law' programme. The programme allows students to learn about the nuances of American law, familiarise themselves with the American methodology of teaching law, and gain knowledge about the specifics of legal discourse in the system of common law.
