On 20 February 2017 the Jagiellonian University hosted a visit by from Keimyung University in Daegu, South Korea.
The delegation consisted of the President of Keimyung University Dr. Ilhi Synn, the Dean of International Office Prof. Seon Jung Kim, the Director of Keimyung F. Chopin Academy of Music Prof. Seung Sun Lee, and Hyun Wook Cho from the Center of International Affairs.
During the meeting in Collegium Novum, a memorandum of understanding between the two higher education institutions was signed by the JU Vice-Rector for University Development Prof. Dorota Malec and the President of Keimyung University Prof. Ilhi Synn. The document sets out a general framework for collaboration in research and education. Then the President listened to a presentation by Prof. Piotr Laidler from the JU Internationalisation Committee, who provided him with key facts and figures regarding the Jagiellonian University, with special focus on the issues related to international collaboration and internationalization.
After the signing of the agreement, the Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy Prof. Jarosław Górniak and the Dean of the Faculty of International and Political Studies Prof. Zdzisław Mach took part in a separate meeting with representatives of relevant units of Keimyung University, with whom they discussed the details of prospective collaboration at a faculty level.
