A delegation from Keimyung University visits JU

On 2 October 2017, a delegation from Keimyung University in South Korea met with JU Rector Prof. Wojciech Nowak. The meeting took place in Collegium Novum Senate Room.

The delegation consisted of Prof. Ilhi Synn, President of Keimyung University, Prof. Seonjung Kim, Dean of International Office, Prof. Chicheum Cho, Dean of Planning and Information of Dongsan Medical Center, Prof. Kyungmo Min, Director of the Center for International Education and Development, and Hyunwook Cho, Regional Coordinator of the Center for International Affairs. Aside from its rector, the Jagiellonian University was represented by Prof. Adam Jelonek, Rector’s Proxy for Internationalisation, and Dr hab. Renata Czekalska, Deputy Director of the Institute of the Middle and Far East.

The participants discussed the possibility of strengthening cooperation between the Jagiellonian University and Keimyung University, particularly in the area of medical robotics. Other proposed fields of collaboration include developing joint programmes in international and political studies as well as Korean language and culture.

After the meeting, the delegation received a tour of the JU Medical College campus and the new University Hospital in Kraków-Prokocim. They also attended additional meetings with other representatives of the Jagiellonian University, including Prof. Tomasz Grodzicki, Vice-Rector for Medical College, and Prof. Zdzisław Mach, Dean of the Faculty of International and Political Studies.
