JU signs an agreement with Chonbuk National University

During the 30th Annual EAIE Conference and Exhibition in Geneva, the Jagiellonian University signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Chonbuk National University in South Korea. The agreement concerns student and staff mobility as well as establishing joint teaching programmes.




The Jagiellonian University was represented by JU Rector’s Proxy for Internationalisation Prof. Adam Jelonek and Head of the JU International Relations Office Dorota Maciejowska. The delegation from the Korean university consisted of the Vice-President for International Cooperation Prof. Yoon Myeong Sook and her deputy Dr Lee Hyeong Woo.

Chonbuk National University will collaborate with two JU units: Faculty of International and Political Studies as well as Faculty of Philosophy Centre for Comparative Studies of Civilisations. Within the framework of this collaboration there will be an exchange of two students for the period of one academic year (or four for the period of one semester). Staff exchange will be realised in a shorter period of time – two employees for seven days per year.

The cooperation between the universities will focus on:

  • teaching and administrative staff exchange;
  • student mobility (first, second and third cycle);
  • exchange of research materials, publications, and information;
  • organising joint conferences;
  • establishing joint and double degree programmes;
  • joint research and paper publication.
