On 30 October, a delegation from Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in Buffalo, NY, USA met with JU Vice-Rector for Research and Structural Funds Prof. Stanisław Kistryn. The aim of the meeting was to sign an agreement establishing cooperation in the area of oncological research.
The delegation from RPCCC consisted of Prof. Kunle Odunsi, Prof. Paweł Kaliński, Prof. Agnieszka Witkiewicz and Prof. Danuta Kozbor, accompanied by Polish senator Anna Maria Anders, Prof. Jolanta Jura and Prof. Hanna Rokita. Aside from the Vice-Rectors, the Jagiellonian University was represented by JU Rector’s Proxy for Research and Development at the Medical College Prof. Marek Sanak as well as professors Wojciech Jurczak, Piotr Wysocki, Kazimierz Pityński, Piotr Richter and Piotr Chłosta.
The meeting was devoted to various aspects of future collaboration between the Jagiellonian university and Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. After the official greeting and signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, the discussion began. Participants of the meeting delivered short presentations on subjects such as scientific collaboration, student education, physician and laboratory research training, joint clinical trials, and opportunities for oncological second opinions in clinical cases.
