JU researcher elected to the governing body of an international association

Dr Marcin Grabowski from the JU Faculty of International and Political Studies has become a member of the six-person Executive Council of the Central and Eastern European International Studies Association (CEEISA) in the years 2019-2022. The other five Council members represent research institutions from Great Britatin, Germany, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Serbia.

CEEISA was created in 1996 and consists of individual members representing international relations scholarship form the Central and Eastern Europe. It organises conferences with the International Studies Association and the European International Studies Association, as well as panels during conferences organised by partner associations. Additionally, CEEISA publishes the Journal of International Relations and Development (Palgrave) and the editorial series Central and Eastern European Perspectives on International Relations. CEEISA is a member of the World International Studies Committee (WISC).

Dr Marcin Grabowski is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Political Science and International Relations of the Jagiellonian University in Kraków and the Director of the International Security And Development programme (ISAD). He has graduated in International Relations from the Jagiellonian University. He studied at Columbia University in New York (School of International and Public Affairs), George Washington University in Washington (Sigur Center for Asian Studies), and University of California, San Diego, where he completed the Global Leadership Institute programme. He is actively engaged in international and national research associations and broad international cooperation projects. His research focuses on the problems of the Asia-Pacific region (especially on regional economic integration), foreign policy of China and the United States, as well as international economics.
