Numerous JU scientists ranked amongst prestigious top 2% in the world

63 Jagiellonian University scholars have made their way onto the list of top scientists in the world published in 2021. The ranking, compiled by the University of Stanford in collaboration with Elsevier publishing house and SciTech Strategies company, assesses the overall impact of scientists based on bibliometrics.

 

The list contains the top two percent of world's scientists whose publications have been most cited by other authors. The overall quality of the scientific contribution of every researcher is rated on the basis of their bibliometric index, which includes such criteria as the h-index, citations (including auto-citations), Impact Factor, as well as the place and role on the list of authors (e.g. first place or last place). The ranking features more than 186,000 specialists from 22 scientific fields, with 176 sub-fields. The total number of scientists from Polish higher education institutions on the list is 957.

The names of 63 Jagiellonian University researchers have been present on this year’s list, which is 15 more than the year before:
