Employing researchers from Ukraine in teams funded by the National Science Centre (UPDATED)

Within the framework of the assistance offered by the National Science Centre (NCN) to researchers fleeing the Russian invasion of Ukraine, principal investigators in NCN grants can offer positions in their teams to Ukrainian researchers.






Eligible for the employment are researchers who hold at least a PhD degree (known as the Candidate of Sciences under the Ukrainian system) and who worked at Ukrainian universities and in other research centres before the war.

Their work and research interests must bear relevance for the thematic scope of the projects.

Listed below are projects carried out at Jagiellonian University in which researchers from Ukraine may be employed.

The list will be updated, based on information received from JU researchers.

Project title: Topological Dynamics in the Big Data problem

Research thematic scope: Combinatorial topological dynamics: design and implementation of algorithms for the topological analysis of dynamical systems directly from finite samples (time series, clouds of vectors), in particular computation of topological invariants: Morse decompositions, Morse-Conley graphs, Conley indexes. Applications to computer assisted proofs, in particular proofs of chaotic behavior. Theoretical research around these and related concepts, in particular discrete Morse theory, Conley theory, persistent homology, finite topological spaces, sampled dynamics.
