Jagiellonian University study programmes score higher in the latest QS ranking

QS World University Rankings by Subject, one of the most prestigious university rankings, has classified the Jagiellonian University’s achievements in 20 disciplines, with the highest number of points awarded to Modern Languages, Archaeology and Linguistics. The ranking features 23 Polish higher education institutions.

QS World University Rankings was established by Quacquarelli Symonds, a British publishing company working in the field of international education. It comprises three distinct rankings focused on research activities, study programmes and the overall performance of universities. This year’s edition features 1,543 higher education institutions with a total number of several thousand study programmes. The ranking is divided into 51 academic disciplines divided into five areas: Arts & Humanities, Engineering & Technology, Life Sciences & Medicine, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences & Management. It is based on four factors: university’s reputation in the academic community, university’s reputation among employers, citations and h-index.

This year, 23 Polish higher education institutions have made it onto the list. The three that have been ranked the highest are, similarly to the last year, the University of Warsaw (22 study programmes), Jagiellonian University (20 study programmes) and Warsaw University of Technology (11 study programmes).
