Jagiellonian University New Year’s Concert

On 14 January, the Jagiellonian University academic community celebrated the coming of the New Year with a special concert held in Auditorium Maximum. The audience had the opportunity to listen to pieces performed by artists of the Kraków Opera, JU Academic Choir Camerata Jagellonica, Słowianki Song and Dance Ensemble and Karol Szymanowski Philharmonic in Kraków. The performance was conducted by Janusz Wierzgacz, to whom JU Rector Prof. Jacek Popiel presented a gift in the form of a miniature replica of the Rector's sceptre.

The evening, hosted by Marta Wolff-Zdzienicka and Filip Moszner, was filled with film scores as well as musical and operetta pieces performed by Marcin Jajkiewicz and Emilia Pływacz together with soloists from the Kraków Opera: Zuzanna Caban, Jarosław Bielecki and Michał Kutnik.
