During the closing ceremony of this year’s edition of School of American Law, held on 12 June at the JU Collegium Maius, Prof. Leah Wortham was awarded with the gold Plus Ratio Quam Vis medal. The medal was presented to her by Prof. Dorota Malec, JU Vice-Rector for University Development.

Jagiellonian University ranked as the best in Poland by Perspektywy Education Foundation

The Jagiellonian University and the University of Warsaw took joint first place in the Polish higher education institutions ranking Perspektywy 2017. It has happened for the second time since the ranking was first published 18 years ago. The third place was taken by Warsaw University of Technology.

International mathematical prize for Dr Anna Szymusiak

Dr Anna Szymusiak from the JU Chair in Applied Mathematics was awarded with this year’s International Stefan Banach Prize for a Doctoral Dissertation in the Mathematical Sciences. She will receive her statuette, along with a cheque for 25,000 PLN, during the 8th Forum of Polish Mathematicians, organised in September in Lublin.
