On 5–6 June 2015, an international seminar entitled "Literature and Arts. Copyrighted" was held at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Kraków. The meeting was organised by the JU Chair in Literary Anthropology and Cultural Studies and the JU Centre for Advanced Studies in the Humanities within the framework Maciej Jakubowiak's research grant, funded by the National Science Centre.

The Jagiellonian University and the University of Warsaw ranked the best in Poland

The Jagiellonian University and the University of Warsaw tied for first place in Poland in the "Perspektywy 2015" ranking, with a total of 187 higher education institutions taken into account. Third place was taken by the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań.

Dr Dominik Czaplicki from the JU Department of Cell Biochemistry has won an internship at the Bonaccord Ecosse Ltd. law firm in Edinburgh. His stay will be funded by the Foundation for Polish Science within the framework of the 4th edition of the Skills programme.

A research team from the Jagiellonian University took 3rd place in this year's edition of the EUREKA! GDP contest. The project was related to an innovative way of detecting bacteria and fungi in blood with the use of the NESTED method.
