JU archaeologists among the world leaders in the field

For more than a dozen years, the JU archaeologists have been conducting excavations in Tell el-Farkha in the Nile Delta, discovering, among others, the golden figures of the pharaoh and his son, the so-called shrine deposits and the remains of monumental cult and residential buildings from the times of the dawn of ancient Egypt around 5,000 years ago. Scholarship winners of the Queen Jadwiga Fund: academic year 2011/2012

The Queen Jadwiga Fund was established to commemorate the great deed of Queen Jadwiga, who donated all her personal wealth towards the restoration of the Kraków Academy. The fund aims to support members of academic staff and PhD students from East or Central European countries, including the former Soviet Union and the Balkans, who want to conduct research in Kraków.

Student Nobel Prize 2011 goes to the JU Medical College student

Paweł Matusik, the sixth year student of the Faculty of Medicine of the Jagiellonian University Medical College won the title of the best student in Poland. He received the Student Nobel Prize 2011 in the 3rd edition of the competition organized by the Independent Students' Association. Paweł Matusik was presented with the award on June 27, 2011 in the Sejm of the Republic of Poland. This has not been his first success

The Jagiellonian University conducted a survey on secondary school students' motivations behind their tertiary education choices. It turns out that the majority of students consider the choice of higher education institution and programme an important factor in shaping their professional future. Besides, the vast majority of respondents take into account their career plans when choosing a higher education programme. Most of them think that studying at the JU would boost their chances for a successful career in future

The JU Political Studies and International Relations Faculty graduates awarded by the Foreign Minister
