The Jagiellonian University looks to the future

The Jagiellonian University conducted a survey on secondary school students' motivations behind their tertiary education choices. It turns out that the majority of students consider the choice of higher education institution and programme an important factor in shaping their professional future. Besides, the vast majority of respondents take into account their career plans when choosing a higher education programme. Most of them think that studying at the JU would boost their chances for a successful career in future

New laboratories in the Institute of Physics

June 2, 2011 saw the gala opening of two laboratories in the JU Institute of Physics. They are equipped with the state-of-the-art research apparatus: the multifunctional modern materials physical property measurement system (PPMS) in the Laboratory of Advanced Magnetic Materials and Superconductivity and the photoelectron spectrometer XPS, UPS in the Laboratory of Electron Spectroscopy.

JU students among the best programmers in the world

The Jagiellonian University team won a bronze medal in the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) in Orlando, USA, the world's biggest and most prestigious programming competition for universities. 24,915 programmers grouped in 8,305 teams took part in the contest this year. They represented 2,070 Universities from 88 countries from six continents.The JU team consisted of
