Institute of the Middle and Far East invites researchers specialising in Asian studies, political science, international relations, and history to participate in a conference entitled 'Security dilemmas and challenges in the Asia-Pacific region. Alliances and disputes in the shadow of politics of memory and balance of power in the 21st century', which will be held on 26 Januray 2016 and followed by a student workshop.
Since the Asia-Pacific region becomes the place of shifts in regional powers, the question of security becomes a growing challenge. Economic and political changes in the past two decades have triggered a reorganisation in the role and position of Asian countries on the international scene, particularly in the region of Asia-Pacific.
The presentation should last no more than 20 minutes and ideally discuss one ofthe following topics:
- political sciences and international relations
- economy
- history
- philosophy and religion (especially Confucianism)
- sociology and migration
- law
