The JU Polish Research Centre and JU Institute of Political Science and International Relations invite you to attend an event entitled 'UK: yesterday, today, tomorrow. International Conference on Contemporary British Politics', which will be held on 23-24 November 2023.

The United Kingdom is undergoing unprecedented changes in various areas and contexts. These changes are not limited to the political reality of Brexit, but also numerous social and economic processes that impact the identity as well as past and current way of life of the British. The participants of the conference will focus on the following issues: the evolution of British political institutions, the dynamics of British political party system, British voting systems, devolution, local government, the future of Scotland, changes in British society: (new) identity politics, new generations of migrants, Polish influences in the UK, United Kingdom and Poland – strategic partnership, UK and EU relations after Brexit, global politics of the UK, and the reign of Queen Elisabeth II. An important aspect of the conference will be the Polish-British relationship and possible perspectives of closer collaboration.
