A memorandum of understanding between the Medical College of the Jagiellonian University and the University of Edinburgh, College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine was signed on 4 May 2011 in Edinburgh.

Both universities have declared collaboration in terms of research and academic exchange. The agreement will enable Polish students to participate in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes run by the Polish School of Medicine in Edinburgh.

The agreement also involves the exchange of information, shared research projects, the development of innovative teaching techniques, organization of conferences and scientific symposia.
