Jagiellonian University boasts the highest number of the best programmes of study in Poland

62 mln zloty will go to the faculties and universities, which, through the application of the modern methods of teaching and the co-operation with entrepreneurs, have improved their programmes of study.

"The contest has shown that our universities can apply modern methods of teaching and respond to the challenges posed by the developing knowledge and dynamic job markets. More and more universities build good relationships with entrepreneurs and prove really good partners for business. Students benefit a lot from this cooperation, which beside up-to-date knowledge equips them with the skills and competences that are necessary for future career. Meetings with outstanding practitioners appear to be very inspirational as they stimulate innovativeness, and non-standard thinking", says Barbara Kudrycka, the Minister of Science and Higher Education.

Five programmes of study run by the Jagiellonian University were awarded in the contest held by the Ministry: cultural studies, biochemistry, philosophy, information science, library sciencer, and political science. Every programme will get, as part of the subsidy, 1 mln zloty for the improvement of its education offer, e.g. for the implementation of the state-of-the art teaching tools and techniques, for student internships and teacher trainings.

The motions were evaluated by the board of experts led by Prof. Zbigniew Marciniak  and appointed by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
