Kraków Rectors issue a statement on coronavirus prevention

The Council of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions of Kraków, presided over by the Rector of the Jagiellonian University Prof. Wojciech Nowak, has issued a statement on preventive measures that will be taken in order to contain further spread of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus. The document was drawn up together with Anna Budzanowska, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

'Referring to the announcement of an international public health emergency and because of the risk of a SARS-CoV-2 epidemic, all international visits of undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students as well as university employees to and from countries listed in the document issued by the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate (CSI) have been suspended with immediate effect, until further notice', reads the Council statement.

Kraków Rectors advise 'that all university-wide, department and sporting events as well as scientific conferences be - if possible - cancelled or postponed' and 'to follow CSI communiques on the current state of affairs and to comply with their recommendations'.
