International project UNA.TEN commences at the Jagiellonian University

International project UNA.TEN commences at the Jagiellonian University

On 27 April, the international project UNA.TEN Transfer Emergency Now! 10 days for change, organised by the UNA Europa network, was officially launched at the Jagiellonian University.

The UNA.TEN project is a direct response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has a serious impact on nearly all aspects of social life. Over the course of 10 days, teams made up of students and PhD candidates supervised by mentors and moderators will work on solutions for the current challenges categorised in 4 areas:

  • How to rethink entertainment and cultural activities during the COVID post-emergency period?
  • How to protect our privacy and help fight dangers, fears, and misconceptions in a digital world?
  • How to ensure traveller safety while COVID 19 is not fully defeated yet?
  • How to avoid food waste on the field level due to supply chain disruption?

Each challenge is assigned to specific groups at every member institution. The Jagiellonian University is represented by four teams and two moderators. All teams work individually, and future international meetings will provide an opportunity for exchanging knowledge and study materials.

Thanks to the UNA.TEN initiative, the Jagiellonian University will be able to overcome European challenges at a local level and come up with solutions that best suit local needs. At the same time, it is possible to use this European collaboration as an example of new ways of accessing knowledge of academic staff and experts from around the world.

The initiative is inspired by Oper.TEN – Transform Emergency Now! 10 giorni per il cambiamento, organised in early March by Università di Bologna, a member of UNA Europa.
