The Jagiellonian University allows different modes of learning

The Jagiellonian University allows different modes of learning

JU authorities have announced the arrangements for teaching in the first semester of the academic year 2020/2021. The courses will be run in one of three possible modes, depending on the faculty dean’s choice, based on the current sanitary and epidemiological guidelines as well as health conditions of the academic staff and students.

According to the JU Rector’s ordinance, learning at first-cycle, second-cycle and long cycle programmes of study will be carried out in one of the three following modes:

  • on-site with online components – students attend lectures classes in university premises during the whole semester with at least 25% percent of the lectures and classes taking place on-site
  • online with on-site components – lectures and classes on-site are arranged in a way that they need not be attended by all students throughout the semester
  • fully online

The Jagiellonian University authorities stress that in the event of a rise in the epidemiological threat levels, distant learning can be introduced across the University.
The arrangements for specific study progammes and years of study are available (in Polish) on the JU Public Information Bulletin website.
