JU and IBM collaborate to create a healthy lifestyle motivation app

The IBM company and the Jagiellonian University Institute of Applied Psychology are working on Jane AI application, which will play the role of a personal coach. By analyzing physical activity data from the users’ mobile phones, it will motivate them to do regular exercise. The app is based on IBM Watson cognitive system.

Former JU rector Aleksander Koj passes away

The Jagiellonian University is sad to announce the death of Professor Aleksander Koj, its former rector, eminent biologist and biochemist, and co-founder of the Campus of the 600th Anniversary of the JU Revival. Prof. Koj passed away on 29 December 2016 at the age of 81.

Innovative research at the JU Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Applied Computer Science

The Foundation for Polish Science has announced the results of the second TEAM Programme competition, which offers grants for ground-breaking research conducted by leading international scientists within the framework of research teams. One of the competition winners is Dr Grzegorz Zuzel from the JU Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Applied Computer Science. He will conduct his study with the assistance of Belgian and Spanish researchers.
